Life in a metro

A place packed with sweat, anxiety and hope

I can see people from all walks of life

Women are wary of predators who try to grope

Or a woman who safely rests her head on her husband’s shoulder for she is a sleep deprived wife

I can see people from all walks of life

I can spot dreams in each one of their eyes

My favourite, a window-seat kid appreciating the birdlife

Or a late employee cajoling his/her boss with all kinds of lies

I can spot dreams in each one of their eyes

Our lives are like that of the rapid metro. Never stopping.

It is justified in today’s robust, accelerating and rapid world.

Busy earning a living and not living a living

What if the metro called life leaves us at the wrong station and never comes back to pick us up?

Does the destination take precedence over the journey?

The metro coach is surely one of life’s coach.
